Jose Guevara

Jose Guevara works a 4-hectare farm he has named La Lúcuma, in the municipality of Callayuc near the town of Querocoto in Cajamarca. He is one of nearly 600 producers working with Aromas del Valle, a young cooperative focused on supporting its members in producing high-quality micro-lots.

Jose grows Typica, Yellow Caturra and Bourbon at 2000 metres above sea level, farming within a complex agroforestry system of native fruit and shade trees. The high altitude and cool climate are well suited to producing dense, sweet and aromatic coffees. This washed Typica is floral, dense and complex, with notes of aromatic citrus and dense blackberry jam.
